Women In Construction | Industry Game-Changers

STONEPILEllc Construction College emphasizes female leadership in the construction field. Traditionally a male-dominated industry, construction is welcoming a new generation of women leaders. Record vacancies on the job site are forcing changes in what’s been an all-male stronghold. Read on!

The number employed in construction topped 1 million in May of last year, a first since data began to be collected in 1964, and their share of the industry workforce reached an all-time high of 14.1% last month.1

This is interesting: An Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) analysis found that from 2016 to 2019, the number of female apprentices in construction trades grew at almost double the rate of the overall number.

Around 460,000 women were engaged in management, professional, and related occupations, taking up only 17% of all management positions.

With a degree in construction management, women can enter the field of construction in advanced leadership positions.

It’s time to harness the power of innovation, technology, and experience to train the next generation of construction leaders.
